HEALTH PROMOTION AND EDUCATION DIVISION
ABOUT
THE DIVISION
The
main role of this division is development of Health promotion & Education
Services in the country through close linkages with SHEB’s, national &
international agencies dealing with health promotion and education.
Coordinating
with Central Govt., States, International Health Agencies, NHPs and other
organizations concerned with Health Education and Promotion.
ACTIVITIES
a)
Maintaining liaison with international agencies like UNICEF, WHO & UNDP etc.
to facilitate their assistance for overall development of
health education & health promotion activities in the country.
(b)
Maintaining close liaison with State Health Education Bureau & IEC Bureaus
for providing technical guidance in development of Health Education & Health
Promotion Programmes.
(c)
Facilitating capacity building of SHEB’s through need based training
programmes, seminars & workshops.
(d)
Supplying prototype Health Education Material & guidelines for SHEB’s for
observance of special health days.
(e) Maintaining close liaison with N.H.P officers of various National
Health Programmes of Directorate General of Health Services & Ministry of
Health & Family Welfare for Health Education & Health Promotion
activities of the country.

Close
linkage of coordination with National Govt., Non-Govt. & International
Agencies so that health education activities may be promoted throughout the
country.
